GRAPE VARIETY: 100 % Barbera with Guyot training system. 

AGING: 40/50 hl oak casks for more than 24 months 

ALCOHOL CONTENT: 14.5% 

HARVEST: by hand, first ten days of October. 

APPEARANCE: intense ruby red with reflections of purple. 

AROMA: persistent vinous, slightly vanilla flavoured, ethereal with hints of cinnamon and dried fruit. 

PALATE: full-bodied and harmonious. Gentle acidity favoured by aging in quality wood. 

NOTES

Our Barbera d’Alba Superiore was created from an important vine in the area of San Defendente di Govone planted in 1971. The limited production of grapes carefully and patiently hand-picked as well as the excellent south-facing position gives this wine a strong character and a notable personality. It was decided that it should age for at least two years in oak casks in order to produce a more delicate, soft wine. It is one of the most important wines at the Ceste Winery as well as being part of the history and heritage of Piedmont wine production.

Serve at 20°C. Uncork 2 hours before.
