GRAPE VARIETY: 100% Bonarda with Guyot training system.

AGING: Stainless steel casks.

ALCOHOL CONTENT: 12,5%

HARVEST: by hand, last ten days of September.

APPEARANCE: intense grainy red colour

AROMA:  aroma that brings to mind fresh vinasse

PALATE: slightly sweet and a little perky

NOTES

The Bonarda vine is historically widespread in Govone as well as in a large part of the left side of the Tanaro. In the not so distant past, when there were other production criteria, the Bonarda grape variety was planted here and there amidst the Barbera vines.  This was to “soften” the sharp edges of the Barbera itself.  We have been producing the Bonarda now for some years as a single grape variety obtaining a well bodied wine suitable for serving with every day dishes especially rustic traditional raw hams and spiced lards.

 

Serve at 14-16°C in order to bring out its unusual, pleasant character.
